Patten Gymnasium is a two-story structure housing athletic support facilities and offices with an attached gymnasium and golf center. The sports facility is located at the northern end of the Northwestern University campus on the southeast corner of Sheridan Road and Lincoln Street in Evanston, Illinois. The building was built in 1939/1940 and was designed by Holabird & Root. It replaced the original gymnasium building that was built in 1909.

The three-year, multi-phased restoration includes lannon stone restoration, limestone restoration, installation of new flashings and sealant replacement. Northwestern University has elected to proceed with exterior masonry repairs and reconstruction associated with the underlying steel support refurbishment which will include restoration, repair and replacement of structural columns, beams and horizontal support angles and plates. Original windows will be replaced by others concurrent with this project for each phase of work.
