Water infiltration lead to distress at three of the four building corners including:

  • Shifting and cracking of lannon stone at the buttress locations
  • Open and cracking lannon and limestone mortar joints
  • Sealant failure at skyward joints and window perimeters
  • Corrosion and expansion of steel support elements

BAMR provided façade restoration and reconstruction as follows:

  • Documenting, salvaging and reinstalling the lannon stone at 3 of the 4 buttresses
  • Grinding and tuckpointing of 100% of the lannon stone and limestone joints
  • Sealant replacement at 100% of the window perimeters
  • Replacement and notching of bluestone to eliminate sky joints
  • Water repellant was applied to 100% of the lannon, limestone, and bluestone
