Northwestern University Ward Memorial Tower

Building compression, environmental conditions and steel corrosion led to the following:

  • Deteriorated or cracked mortar joints
  • Delamination of limestone and brick parapet walls
  • Spalling, shifting and cracking limestone pieces
  • Water infiltration at the tower-level tracery windows

BAMR erected hydro-mobile mast climbers & pipe scaffold on all elevations of the tower to complete the following repairs:

  • Grind & tuckpoint mortar joints on all elevations
  • Installation of new non-corrosive steel anchors
  • Replaced damaged and missing limestone pieces
  • Replaced limestone tracery units at windows
  • Replaced window system on all elevations of the tower
