Northwestern University Ward Memorial Tower
Building compression, environmental conditions and steel corrosion led to the following:
- Deteriorated or cracked mortar joints
- Delamination of limestone and brick parapet walls
- Spalling, shifting and cracking limestone pieces
- Water infiltration at the tower-level tracery windows
BAMR erected hydro-mobile mast climbers & pipe scaffold on all elevations of the tower to complete the following repairs:
- Grind & tuckpoint mortar joints on all elevations
- Installation of new non-corrosive steel anchors
- Replaced damaged and missing limestone pieces
- Replaced limestone tracery units at windows
- Replaced window system on all elevations of the tower
